Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Instructeer ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information about users of instructeer.com and the Instructeer API.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account or use the Service, we collect:
- Account information — name, email address, and authentication credentials managed by Clerk
- Billing information — payment method and subscription details managed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
- Usage metadata — request counts, timestamps, API key identifiers, and quota usage. Used for billing and dashboard display.
- API keys — hashed identifiers you create to authenticate API requests.
We do not collect or retain the content of API requests (text submitted to PIIGuard or SQL submitted to SQLGuard). Request content is processed in memory and discarded after the response is returned.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To display usage data in your dashboard
- To send transactional emails (account creation, subscription changes, quota alerts)
- To respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to train models or build datasets.
3. Sub-processors
We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

4. Data retention
Account and billing information is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period after deletion as required for legal and accounting purposes. Usage metadata is retained for up to 13 months for billing and quota history. API request content is never retained.
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@instructeer.com. You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard settings page.
6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit via TLS. Persistent data stores are encrypted at rest. Access to production infrastructure is restricted to authorized personnel.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
